SANDY'S operates a chain of convenience retail stores across Pennsylvania. We are your everyday shop for fresh grab-and-go selections, snacks, beverages, coffee, PA lottery, Skills games, and fuel services.
Our Cresson Convenience Store, Subway Shop, and Gas Station is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be the friendly face that assists shoppers, manages transactions, and ensures the store remains organized and inviting. You will also be trained in Subway food preparation. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help drive sales and foster customer loyalty. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your retail skills while leading and contributing to a vibrant team environment.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Store Manager, Food Manager, and Regional Manager by implementing techniques, procedures and policies establish by the corporate office related to daily operations and management of the store.
- Manage and oversee the Subway Store along with the Food Manager and follow established operating procedures.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Manage recruiting, training, development, promotions and discipline with store staff.
- Manage shifts effectively to maintain operational efficiency.
- Utilize retail math to analyze sales data and make informed decisions regarding pricing and inventory management.
- Oversee cash register operations, ensuring accuracy in transactions.
- Implement promotional strategies to drive retail sales and enhance customer engagement.
- Maintain store appearance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales, Assistant Manager is preferred.
- Former Subway experience preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of retail math for effective inventory management and pricing strategies.
- Experience with cash register operations and financial transactions.
- Ability to lead a team, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and operational challenges.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
