Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatching and delivery of vehicles/equipment using transportation management systems.
- Monitor GPS to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure adherence to schedules.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and customers via multi-line phone systems, text, and email while ensuring clear instructions and updates.
- Handle phone call management with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while addressing inquiries or resolving issues promptly.
- Utilize analysis skills to review transportation data, identify bottlenecks or delays, and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
- Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, freight movements, and incident reports for compliance and reporting purposes.
- File for and obtain proper oversize load permits through different services and municipalities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in transportation planning, dispatching, or logistics coordination within a heavy equipment/towing environment.
- Strong familiarity with transportation management systems.
- Knowledge of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and fleet management software to enhance route efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone call management, organization, and professional interaction.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for reviewing logistics data to improve operational performance.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously using multi-line phone systems and data entry tools efficiently.
- Deep knowledge of heavy equipment and oversize laws/permits.
