Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier/Stock Associate to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring smooth operations at our store, handling transactions with accuracy, and maintaining an organized and well-stocked inventory. The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of the alcohol industry, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle Transactions: Operate the cash register to process customer purchases accurately, including cash, credit, and debit transactions. Verify customer IDs for age-restricted purchases in compliance with state regulations.
- Stock and Rotate Inventory: Receive, organize, and stock wine, beer, and liquor on shelves and in coolers, ensuring proper rotation to maintain product freshness and appealing displays.
- Maintain Store Organization: Keep shelves, displays, and storage areas tidy and well-organized, paying close attention to detail to ensure products are correctly labeled and priced.
- Provide Customer Service: Assist customers with product inquiries, offering recommendations based on general knowledge of wine, beer, and liquor. Address customer needs with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Monitor Inventory Levels: Report low stock or inventory discrepancies to management to ensure timely reordering and availability of products.
- Adhere to Store Policies: Follow all store procedures, including safety, security, and compliance with alcohol sales regulations.
- Support Team Efforts: Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy in cash handling, inventory stocking, and product placement to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to keep shelves and storage areas orderly, with a focus on maintaining clean and visually appealing displays.
- General Knowledge of Alcohol Industry: Familiarity with wine, beer, and liquor products, including basic understanding of brands, categories, or customer preferences (e.g., types of wine varietals, craft beers, or spirits).
- Customer Service Orientation: Friendly, approachable, and able to assist customers with product questions or recommendations.
- Reliability and Punctuality: Commitment to working approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks such as stocking and rotating inventory.
- Minimum Age: Must be at least 21 years old to comply with alcohol handling regulations.
- Experience: Prior retail, cashier, or stocking experience is a plus but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
