Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our veterinary team. Experience is required. Duties
- Assist veterinarians with medical collection procedures, including blood draws, urine samples, and other diagnostic tests.
- Provide animal husbandry support by feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining clean living spaces for animals in our care.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during examinations and treatments.
- Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with emergency procedures.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as preparing samples, running basic tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accurate diagnostics.
- Assist with animal catheterization procedures and maintain aseptic techniques to prevent infection during medical interventions.
- Contribute to pet care routines including pet grooming, training, and providing companionship to improve animal well-being.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and restrain patients safely.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be available for a variety of shifts Monday-Saturday (every other Saturday required)
Skills
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology to support effective communication within the team.
- Experience with dog handling, animal restraint, and pet grooming techniques to ensure safe interactions with animals of various sizes and temperaments.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and laboratory procedures relevant to diagnostic testing.
- Ability to perform medical collection tasks accurately while adhering to aseptic protocols.
- Competence in using veterinary equipment and understanding basic veterinary procedures such as animal catheterization.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
