Position Overview
The Facility Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and janitorial services to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of company facilities. This role plays a key part in supporting efficient operations by maintaining building systems, equipment, interior spaces, and exterior grounds in optimal condition.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and complete minor repairs to building systems and equipment.
- Replace light bulbs, filters, and other consumable items.
- Assist with facility upgrades, improvements, and renovation projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspections, and work order records.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, surfaces, and fixtures.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal procedures.
- Restock janitorial and restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.).
- Maintain exterior areas, including snow removal, lawn care, and debris cleanup.
- Follow all safety procedures and immediately report hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable local regulations.
- Assist with emergency response procedures when required.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in facility maintenance and/or janitorial work
- Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment, power tools, and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capable of bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
