Freight Administrator
Sandvik Mining & Rock, the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry, currently has an opening for a Freight Administrator on our Mid shift 11:00AM-7:30PM Mon-Fri
As the Freight Administrator you will be responsible for scheduling pick-ups with carriers, preparing shipping documents and following up on customer inquiries with internal and external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities Include
Manage carrier changes
Scheduling, quoting, and routing of Truckload and Expedited shipments
Ensure all consignments are shipped in the most cost-effective way and are in adherence with shipping guidelines
Process unrouteable orders: Criticality 1 shipments for US, Canada, Mexico, and international shipments
Prepare shipping documents: Bills of Lading, SLI s, Commercial Invoices, etc.
Ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve shipping documentation issues or missed shipments
Follow-up on daily inquiries for carrier change requests, expedited/must ship requests, exceptions and shipment tracking.
Maintain integrity of freight management systems
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
May perform other duties and participate in other projects as required within the department
Experience And Required Competencies
Minimum 2 years previous experience in a transportation environment including domestic and international shipments
Previous experience in a Transportation Management System
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong computer skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word and ExcelSandvik is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
