Sandusky Artisans Recovery Community Center is a non-profit, peer-run, grassroots recovery organization supporting individuals impacted by Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and Mental Health (MH) challenges through recovery-focused services, outreach, and community connection.
Role Description
This is a part-time, Independent Contractor role for a Male Certified Peer Recovery Specialist located in Sandusky, OH. This role involves providing peer support to male individuals involved in our jail and court based recovery programs. Tasks include attending court, one-on-one peer support, advocating for individuals' needs, assist with navigating community resources, visiting Peers in jail, with the potential for facilitating recovery-oriented activities, attending community outreach activities, and possible front desk coverage. This role will be approx. 20 hours per week with the possibility of increased hours as programs arise.
Qualifications
- Ohio Peer Support Certification.
- Lived experience with SUD. MH experience is valued.
- Valid drivers license, current auto insurance & reliable transportation.
- Ability to effectively engage with individuals and support teams.
- Experience in Training and educating others on recovery methods and resources is highly valued.
- Understanding of confidentiality and ethical standards in recovery support roles is essential.
