With locations in Phoenix and Washington, D.C., the Institute is expanding its national reach and impact through innovative programs, research, and partnerships.
Position Summary
The Education Programs Manager plays a central role in the growth and delivery of the O’Connor Institute Ambassadors Civics & Debate Club, a national virtual extracurricular program for high school students, along with additional middle and high school youth programs. This remote position manages the operational, logistical, and program delivery.
This role is ideal for a highly organized and outgoing professional who enjoys interacting with dynamic youth, coordinating programs, maintaining well-ordered systems, and helping execute effectively with fellow staff members. The Education Programs Manager will work and collaborate with the Chief of Programs & Public Policy, Vice President of Academic Innovation, Director of Digital Culture, Communications Manager, as well as interface with the CEO and COO to ensure the Ambassadors and other youth programs flourish, run smoothly and continue to expand nationally.
Core Responsibilities
Youth Program Operations, Evaluation & Metrics (Primary Responsibility)
1. Increase enrollment of the O’Connor Institute Ambassadors (OIA)
2. Help deliver monthly online national and/or regional meetings
3. Improve tracking systems and programs operations
4. Recommended themes or topics for monthly online meetings
5. Moderate Zoom meetings and/or breakout sessions
6. Oversee management of student registration, rosters, attendance tracking, and alumni database
7. Prepare run-of-show documents and club meeting support materials
8. Support periodic guest speaker scheduling, communications, and meeting technical preparation with Director of Digital Culture
9. Respond to routine student and family inquiries related to program participation
10. Support club meeting facilitator logistics and ongoing coordination
11. Administer pre- and post- program surveys and participation questionnaires
12. Provide documentation of program outputs and outcomes
Program Communications & Content Support (Secondary Responsibility)
1. Assist with online civics community app permissions for program participants.
2. Manage the application process and student selection committee for Camp O’Connor USA.
3. Manage Camp registration and lead up communication with camp families.
4. Participate in the planning and execution of online Civics Challenge video competition.
5. Prepare first drafts of Ambassadors, Camp O’Connor-related content for the Institute app, website updates, email campaigns
6. Upload and format approved program content in digital platforms
7. Assist with posting and organizing student-facing program resources

1. The Ambassadors program expands to larger and diverse cohorts with accurate program delivery, strong facilitation support, and consistent student experience
2. Smooth, reliable delivery of Ambassadors meetings with minimal logistical issues
3. Timely and well-coordinated youth program communications
4. Positive relationships with students, meeting facilitators, and internal teams
5. Program growth that preserves quality and consistency, aligned with the mission of the Sandra Day O’Connor Institute
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in education or program management
3. Strong organizational, interpersonal and project management skills
4. Comfort working with spreadsheets, databases, and digital platforms
5. Clear written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
7. Attention to detail, follow-through, and reliability
8. Occasional travel required for Institute and industry events throughout the year
9. Interest in civics, education, or nonprofit work and alignment with the Institute’s nonpartisan mission
Compensation & Benefits
