Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, hot stone, Thai, Shiatsu, acupressure, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and post-surgical massage tailored to individual client needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand client concerns and develop customized treatment plans.
- Provide specialized massage therapy for diverse populations such as athletes, post-surgery patients, elderly clients, children, pregnant women (prenatal and postnatal massage), and individuals with stress-related conditions or chronic pain.
- Incorporate advanced techniques like lymphatic drainage and myofascial release to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
- Maintain detailed records of treatments provided and monitor client progress over time.
- Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend appropriate therapies for ongoing wellness.
- Ensure all treatments adhere to safety standards and professional licensing requirements while creating a relaxing atmosphere that encourages client comfort and trust.
Experience
- Valid state licensure as a Massage Therapist with active certification.
- Proven experience delivering diverse massage modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, Thai massage, Shiatsu, acupressure, reflexology services, hot stone massage, lymphatic drainage massage, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release techniques.
- Experience working with special populations such as post-surgery patients, elderly clients, children, pregnant women (prenatal and postnatal), and individuals with chronic pain or stress-related conditions.
- Prior involvement in med spa settings or wellness centers is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to accurately assess patient needs and tailor treatments effectively.
- Ability to perform patient assessments confidently and communicate treatment plans clearly.
- Familiarity with massage therapy for corporate wellness programs or athletic clients is a plus.
