Responsibilities
- Supervise children during playtime in the designated play area, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote physical movement, creativity, and social interaction for toddlers through elementary school-age children
- Maintain a clean and organized play environment, regularly inspecting equipment and materials for safety hazards
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about their child's participation, progress, and any concerns that arise
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions and respectful play among children
- Assist with activity planning tailored to different age groups, including preschoolers, infants, and children with special needs or disabilities
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures and CPR when necessary to respond promptly to emergencies
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or youth programs is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience caring for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children with an understanding of their unique needs
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom experience is preferred
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare is essential
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents and team members while maintaining a positive attitude
