What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at Sandin Manufacturing?
SUMMARY
Provide engineering support for Sales, Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing operations. Responsible for initial development of manufacturing process documentation (work center instructions) & associated drawings, creating & maintaining component drawings to current revisions, assisting Sales in understanding project requirements to aid in quote accuracy, providing material specification support to Quality, and communicating with Manufacturing team to promote manufacturability of products per process capability.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Communicate with Sales to understand & interpret customer project demands and evaluate customer specifications for manufacturability.
2. Use technical knowledge to develop customer product solutions & alternatives for new or non-standard applications.
3. Work with Engineering team to finalize documentation for production release.
4. Process documentation including assembly drawings and work instructions.
5. Trouble shoot and resolve Engineering and Manufacturing related issues.
6. Evaluate risks associated with processes to develop improved practices to offset them.
7. Interact with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Purchasing teams.
8. Development/maintaining component prints to current revision & support of Purchasing to ensure proper documentation is available for vendors.
9. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to prioritize a variety of projects simultaneously.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in ME/MET/IE/IET (preferred) or proven experience to illustrate competency of skills.
3. Strong 2D/3D CAD ability & working knowledge of drawing and dimensioning practices including G, D &T.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook.
5. Ability to read, interpret, and prepare prints and technical specifications.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office and manufacturing environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
