  • Provide infection prevention education and training to nursing and facility staff.
  • Assist with outbreak investigations and implementation of appropriate infection-control measures.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, providers, laboratories, and public health agencies when appropriate.
  • Review infection trends and present findings during Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement meetings.
  • Assist with employee exposure follow-up and infection-related education.

  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Complete nursing assessments and document changes in resident condition.
  • Communicate changes in condition to providers, the Director of Nursing, residents, and responsible parties as appropriate.
  • Complete physician orders and follow up on laboratory, pharmacy, hospice, and provider recommendations.
  • Respond to resident emergencies and changes in condition.
  • Supervise and support CNAs and other nursing staff while working on the floor.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Participate in the nursing on-call or coverage process as assigned.
  • Promote resident safety, dignity, and quality of care at all times.
