General Purpose The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping operations for rental properties and common areas throughout the resort. This position ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, safety, and operational efficiency by leading, training, and supervising housekeeping staff while maintaining compliance with company policies and sanitation standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and manage the daily housekeeping operation to ensure exceptional cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Meet and exceed guest satisfaction goals by maintaining high-quality standards throughout the resort and Rental Program units. Conduct regular inspections of guest accommodations, common areas, and resort facilities to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with company standards. Ensure all Rental Program units meet contractual requirements, including cleanliness, presentation, amenities, and guest supplies. Communicate effectively and consistently with Front Desk Agents, Managers, and other departments regarding room status, guest concerns, and operational needs. Coordinate housekeeping preparations for group arrivals, special events, and high-occupancy periods. Recruit, train, coach, develop, and supervise housekeeping managers, supervisors, and team members. Ensure staff members are properly trained and equipped with the tools, supplies, and resources necessary to perform their duties effectively and safely. Perform touch-up cleaning and room inspections when necessary to maintain service standards. Establish and maintain housekeeping standards, procedures, and best practices within all resort-managed units. Monitor staffing levels and operational productivity to ensure efficient coverage and service delivery. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Manage housekeeping inventories, including cleaning supplies, equipment, linens, and guest amenities. Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and company policies and procedures. Open and close departmental operations as required. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Previous hospitality experience required. Previous supervisory or management experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a related field strongly preferred. Required Skills and Qualifications Proven leadership and team management abilities. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and night shifts as business demands require. Physical Requirements Most work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment; however, occasional outdoor exposure may occur while inspecting resort grounds and facilities. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Must be able to move frequently throughout guest accommodations, common areas, and resort facilities. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and climb stairs as required during inspections and operational support activities. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to maneuver effectively between multiple tasks and operational priorities simultaneously. Requires frequent use of hands and fingers for writing, typing, grasping, and operating office and housekeeping equipment. Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, listen, and communicate effectively throughout the workday. Talking and hearing occur continuously while communicating with guests, team members, supervisors, vendors, and management. Requires continuous visual acuity, including near vision and depth perception, for inspections, documentation, and operational oversight.
