Senior Manager, Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting

You’ll lead fixed asset and lease accounting across a multi‑entity, multi‑location organization, partner closely with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, IT, Legal, and Operations, and serve as a subject‑matter expert during system upgrades, ERP transformations, and M&A activity.
This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with people leadership and process improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both detail and strategic influence.
What you’ll do
Fixed Asset Accounting Leadership
Own the full lifecycle of fixed assets across multiple companies and locations, from capitalization through disposal
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies, including accurate depreciation, impairments, and reporting
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, and supporting schedules
Maintain and enhance the fixed asset subledger within Sage and related ERP systems
Lease Accounting (ASC 842)
Lead lease accounting and reporting under ASC 842, including classifications, remeasurements, and modifications
Ensure lease data is complete, accurate, and well‑documented
Partner with Legal, Procurement, and Operations to identify and evaluate lease arrangements
Review monthly lease entries, amortization schedules, and required disclosures
M&A and Purchase Accounting
Support fixed asset and lease accounting for future acquisitions
Coordinate with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and external valuation partners on fair value measurements
Lead the integration of acquired assets and leases into company systems and processes
People Leadership & Development
Directly manage one team member today, with the opportunity to build a team of 3–5 as the function grows
Provide coaching, mentorship, and clear performance expectations
Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team environment with strong ownership and accountability
Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement
Maintain and strengthen internal controls over fixed asset and lease accounting
Update policies and procedures as standards, systems, and business needs evolve
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Systems, Integrations & ERP Transformation
Serve as the fixed asset and lease accounting lead for system upgrades and ERP implementations
Oversee data migration, system configuration, testing, and process design
Partner with IT, project teams, and external consultants to ensure accounting requirements are met
Multi‑Entity & Intercompany Accounting
Review intercompany fixed asset and lease transactions across multiple legal entities
Support eliminations and consolidation for corporate reporting
What we’re looking for
Experience
5+ years of progressive experience in fixed asset and lease accounting
At least 3 years in a supervisory or people‑leadership role
Strong hands‑on experience with Sage Fixed Assets, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems
Proven experience with ASC 842 lease accounting and purchase accounting for acquisitions
Background working in multi‑company, multi‑entity environments
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 360 and ASC 842
Experience supporting internal and external audits
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling; macros a plus)
Ability to lead through change and drive process improvements
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Clear communicator who partners effectively across Finance, IT, Operations, and leadership
Education & Credentials
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
CPA or MBA strongly preferred
Work Environment
