Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet.
Duties
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems affecting the operation of equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on gas, diesel, or electric equipment such as pick-up trucks, wheel loaders, forklifts, manlifts, golf carts, farm equipment, etc.
- work with equipment operators and supervisors to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and inefficiencies, making the necessary repairs, disassembling units, and replacing component parts.
- Test and ensure the equipment is properly functioning after repairs.
- Respond to equipment related emergency calls outside of assigned working hours.
- Recognize OSHA issues, such as pinch points, improperly placed or absent safety guards, blocked exits, horns and lights, etc.
- Perform those parts of Quality Systems that pertain to maintenance, monitoring and calibration of essential equipment.
- Keep work and shop areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Lead by example by following company policies (i.e., safety, environmental, time clock, break clock, maintenance procedures, etc.)
- Perform all other task assigned by management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role with a strong focus on diesel engine repair.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics with the ability to troubleshoot various mechanical issues effectively.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics and experience maintaining hydraulic systems.
- Ability to fabricate and assemble parts as required for repairs or modifications.
- Familiarity with tire service procedures, including repair techniques and safety protocols.
- Experience operating forklifts safely within a workshop environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members.
- Must meet minimum employment standards.
- Proficient in all requirements of Mobile Equipment I & II
- Ability to assist in training of Mobile Equipment I & II employees
- Ability to apply mechanical aptitude in various scenarios.
- Must have a complete set of quality hand tools
- Must have a valid I.D.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Understand and follow all safety requirements.
- To be considered for a road service truck operator, (optional), applicants must have a CDL licenses.
