Lathe Operator

ABBA Roller is seeking a Lathe Operator who operates grinding lathes to grind, face and polish products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications. Selects, mounts, attaches, and calibrates a variety of attachments to grind angles, contours, lines, spheres, etc. on to surfaces.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy of dimensions
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to understand the required specifications for grinding
• Maintains a safe, clean, organized work area
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge and Print reading skills
• 1-3 years of similar experience
• 1-3 years of experience with grinding and polish rubber machines, calipers, micrometers, vermeers.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Quick Learner
• Neat and Organized

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE:

• High School degree or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years in similar field or with machine experience
• 1-2 years using a CNC or manual machine tools to perform grinding operations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and manipulate 40 lbs.
• Excellent close and distant vision.
• Ability to stand 8 hours plus per workday.
