Duties
- Conduct routine oil changes, tire rotations, fluid top-offs, and basic vehicle inspections to maintain optimal vehicle performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues using automotive diagnostics tools and interpret wiring diagrams for electrical system repairs.
- Repair or replace engine components, including powertrain parts, diesel engines, and automotive electrical systems.
- Perform wheel alignments, suspension adjustments, and steering repairs to ensure proper vehicle handling.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to execute mechanical repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to diagnose complex electrical issues on various vehicle makes, including GM vehicles.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and manual handling of parts or equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Complete detailed repair reports and communicate repair status clearly to customers and team members.
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive repair experience with a strong foundation in mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of automotive engine systems, including powertrain components and diesel engine repair techniques.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics using advanced scan tools and diagnostic software.
- Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately for electrical system repairs.
- Experience with auto body repair techniques such as welding is a plus but not required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to ensure positive customer interactions.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, alignment equipment, and heavy lifting safety procedures.
