Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning and daily meal preparation to meet customer expectations
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
- Use proper knife skills for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients efficiently
- Support food plating and presentation to enhance visual appeal
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation of ingredients and supplies
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional kitchen environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within restaurants or catering services
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Fine dining experience or work in upscale restaurants is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of the food industry trends, catering operations, and serving practices is advantageous
