About Us
Sanctuary Wadsworth is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. We care for a high-acuity population that includes ventilator-dependent residents and residents receiving in-house dialysis, alongside long-term care and short-term rehab. A clean, safe, infection-free environment is central to the care we provide.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, working manager position. You'll lead our housekeeping and laundry team and work right alongside them every day, cleaning rooms, running laundry, and covering shifts when needed. We're looking for someone who leads by example, takes pride in doing the work right, and can teach others to do the same.
What You'll Do
Hands-On Work

- Run laundry operations as needed: sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and resident clothing

- Cover open shifts and call-offs to keep the building staffed
Team Leadership
- Schedule, train, and supervise housekeeping and laundry staff
- Take part in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and evaluating department staff
- Hold the team accountable to cleaning standards, schedules, and checklists
- Build a team that takes pride in its work
Infection Control & Quality
- Carry out infection prevention practices for environmental services and linen handling, including proper disinfectants and contact times, isolation and enhanced barrier precaution rooms, and separation of clean and soiled linen, in partnership with our Infection Preventionist
- Make sure high-acuity areas, including ventilator and dialysis resident rooms, are cleaned to clinical standards
- Complete routine cleaning audits and correct issues quickly
- Manage resident personal clothing: labeling, tracking, timely return, and resolving missing-item concerns
Operations & Compliance
- Order and track supplies, chemicals, and linens within budget, and keep SDS sheets current
- Follow OSHA, CMS, and Ohio Department of Health requirements, and support survey readiness
- Keep department logs, audits, and training records organized and current
- Report equipment and maintenance needs promptly, and work with nursing, maintenance, dietary, and administration
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of housekeeping, laundry, or environmental services experience in healthcare. Lead or supervisory experience is strongly preferred, and long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of infection control practices and healthcare cleaning standards
- Willingness to work hands-on every day and lead by example
- Strong organization and follow-through
- Clear, respectful communication with staff, residents, and families
- Basic computer skills for scheduling, ordering, and logs
