Duties
- Conduct outreach activities to engage individuals in need of behavioral health support within the community
- Provide peer-led mentoring and motivational interviewing to encourage positive change and recovery
- Assist clients in navigating mental health, addiction counseling, and social services systems
- Offer crisis intervention and crisis management during urgent situations with sensitivity and professionalism
- Document interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized support plans tailored to each individual's needs
- Educate clients about behavioral health topics, coping strategies, and available community resources
Qualifications
- Lived experience with behavioral health challenges or addiction recovery, demonstrating empathy and understanding
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies
- Background in social work, mental health counseling, or related fields is preferred
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and empower others
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation purposes
- Excellent communication skills, including motivational interviewing techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in diverse community settings
