Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and creating a nurturing learning environment for young children.
The assistant teacher position hours are 8:30am-12:30 PM Monday - Friday. The position will begin on our first day of school (August 31, 2026), and run through the end of our school year (May 28, 2027). There is potential for extension into next school year!
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
- Create engaging lesson plans that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress
- Maintain accurate records of each child's development and progress
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Experience working with preschool-aged children
- Knowledge of early childhood education practices
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Familiarity with math concepts in early childhood education
- Previous experience in curriculum development is a plus
- Background in childcare or teaching in a private school setting
