What are the responsibilities and job description for the DON position at San Pedro Convalescent Home, Inc?
A Skilled Nursing Facility in the South Bay area is looking for an experienced Director of Nursing who will be responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in California
- Current and valid CPR certification
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that the department services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the patients.
- Must be competent in organizing, planning, and directing nursing care.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing/medical standards of practice, industry-related State and Federal regulations
- Previous experience as DON, ADON, RN Manager
- At least 2 years of nursing supervisory experience in the provision of direct care to multiple patients/residents; previous experience in a Skilled Nursing environment
- Experience with PointClickCare
