Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily billing activities, including medical coding, claims submission, and payment posting
- Ensure compliance with all medical billing regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance standards
- Oversee the use of billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems to streamline processes and maintain data accuracy
- Manage team performance through training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing billing department
- Collaborate with hospital departments to optimize revenue cycle management and resolve billing discrepancies promptly
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and implement strategies to accelerate collections
- Stay updated on healthcare billing management practices, ICD coding standards, and evolving healthcare regulations
Experience
- Proven experience in healthcare billing management or revenue cycle management within a hospital or clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of medical billing regulations compliance, including Medicare and Medicaid regulations
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook for reporting and communication purposes
- Hands-on experience with billing software systems and electronic health records (EHR) management platforms
- Familiarity with medical coding procedures, ICD coding standards, and insurance third-party billing processes
- Excellent understanding of health insurance policies, hospital revenue cycle processes, and healthcare billing best practices
