San Mateo-Foster City School District is looking for substitute Para Educator II Exceptional Children (teacher's assistants) to help in our special needs classrooms.
This is an "on call" position. If you have other commitments and can't work everyday, this may be the position for you.
Definition:
Under general supervision, to provide specialized instructional, behavioral, physical, and medical assistance to exceptional students with severe handicaps; to operate a specialized learning center for special needs students; to provide instructional record keeping support; to perform routine clerical duties; and to perform related work as required. Assist student in toileting and personal hygiene, change soiled clothing and remind student to use bathroom. Our district educates approximately 10,500 students (representing 50 languages) in preschool through eighth grades in 22 outstanding schools. Our family of schools includes three middle schools (Grades 6–8), fifteen elementary schools (TK/K–5), three schools with all grades (K–8), and one Early Education Center. We also have preschools co-located at our six elementary sites. We have various theme based schools: Montessori, Immersion (Spanish and Mandarin), and STEM.
