JOB TITLE: Registrar I
Job Purpose Statement/s: The job of "Registrar I" is done for the purpose/s of performing clerical recording at the middle schools’ office and at the alternative high school’s office; requesting/providing information from/to staff, students and public; maintaining and evaluating documents.
Essential Job Functions:
* Prepares and maintains required archival records and documentation (e.g. permanent student record, cumulative folders, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
* Processes required archival records, documents, and materials (e.g. transcripts, immunization records, report cards, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
* Coordinates the efforts of staff, parents and/or public agencies for the purpose of proper student placement.
* Verifies requirements for the purpose of student promotion/graduation.
* Maintains information (e.g. database, etc.) for the purpose of providing current and accurate data.
* Responds to inquiries of staff, the public, parents and students for the purpose of providing information and direction as may be required.
Other Job Functions:
* Supports school administrators/staff for the purpose of providing assistance with their functions.
* Evaluates situations (i.e. involving other staff, students, parents, the public, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or referring the situation to other appropriate personnel for resolution.
* Supervises student workers for the purpose of ensuring appropriate class credit and/or learning experience.
* Participates in various activities (e.g. meetings, training, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying information.
Job Requirements - Qualifications:
* Experience Required:
Prior job related experience, preferably in a school setting.
* Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:
Skill to operate standard office equipment including use of basic computer applications; use English in both written and verbal form; use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and parents.
Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods; work independently, prioritize duties and keep accurate records; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; and interact with persons of different age groups and cultural backgrounds. Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling/fingering, hearing, near visual acuity.
* Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, Health Physical/Clearance, Tuberculosis Testing/Clearance.
