JOB TITLE: Account Clerk I
Job Summary: The job of "Account Clerk I" is done for the purpose/s of providing accounting functions; complying with district financial obligations; providing financial information/instructions and support to other personnel; and providing financial services and processing of financial functions on a timely basis.
Essential Job Functions:
* Informs personnel and vendors regarding required documentation and procedures for the purpose of conveying information necessary to complete transactions.
* Maintains various fiscal information, files and records (e.g. financial and statistical data) for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
* Prepares documentation (e.g. reports on budget controls, encumbrances, payment vouchers, forms, correspondence) for the purpose of providing written support and conveying information.
* Processes various fiscal information (e.g. financial and statistical data, cash journals) for the purpose of updating information and authorizing final action in compliance with accounting requirements.
* Researches discrepancies (e.g. financial and statistical data, invoices) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adhering to accounting procedures.
Other Job Functions:
* Participates in various activities (e.g. meetings, training, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and conveying information.

* Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:
Skill to operate standard office equipment including use of basic computer applications, type with speed and accuracy; communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, parents and school administrators; use English in both written and verbal form, use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation; perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Knowledge of standard accounting requirements.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods, work under minimal supervision accurately and with attention to detail; understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling/fingering, talking/hearing conversations, near visual acuity/visual accommodation.
* Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, Health Physical Clearance, Tuberculosis Testing/Clearance, Typing Certificate.
