Purpose of Job

The Full-Time Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Facilities Director and plays a critical role in the ongoing maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of all club facilities. This position focuses primarily on proactive and preventative maintenance, ensuring all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure are functioning safely, reliably, and efficiently.

The role includes supporting janitorial operations as needed, but the central responsibility is the effective upkeep of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and safety-related systems across the property. Work hours may vary based on operational needs, emergencies, or project schedules.

Candidates should possess a strong technical background, including experience with pool systems and chemistry, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing repairs, finish carpentry, drywall, tiling, HVAC support, and general facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

Core Maintenance Duties

· Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, drywall repair, minor HVAC troubleshooting, and plumbing repairs.

· Conduct routine inspections of all buildings, mechanical rooms, equipment spaces, and public areas to identify maintenance needs before failures occur.

· Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules for HVAC units, pumps, motors, filters, club equipment, tools, and safety systems.

· Perform diagnostics and repairs on electrical components, including reading and interpreting wiring schematics.

· Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, water supply lines, drainage issues, kitchen equipment connections, and restroom hardware.

· Assist in maintaining building integrity including doors, hardware, windows, flooring, tile, and surface finishes.

· Maintain safe and clean exterior areas such as patios, sidewalks, stairways, parking lots, and service routes.

Systems Monitoring & Reporting

· Utilize the maintenance work order system to document repairs, track progress, and communicate outstanding parts or additional support needed.

· Identify and report major repair requirements, safety concerns, and system failures to the Facilities Director.

· Assist with monitoring building systems including HVAC performance, pumps, motors, pool equipment, security systems, and lighting controls.

Operational Support

· Support janitorial team as needed for special cleaning tasks or shift coverage.

· Respond promptly to member-facing and department maintenance requests.

· Assist with event setup/teardown and special projects as directed.

· Maintain tools, shop workspace, and equipment inventory in clean and organized condition.

Pool & Outdoor Facility Support (if applicable)

· Assist with pool mechanical operations, including pump systems, chemical adjustments, filters, and water quality monitoring.

· Perform routine checks of outdoor recreational facilities including lighting, fencing, gates, signage, and irrigation as assigned.

Job Qualifications

· Minimum 2 years of hands-on building or facility maintenance experience.

· Strong craftsmanship and mechanical aptitude.

· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and execute projects systematically.

· Comfortable using computers/smartphones and digital maintenance platforms.

· Strong communication and organizational skills; able to collaborate with staff, managers, and members professionally.

· High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferred.

· Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in varying conditions.

· This position operates on a flexible schedule, with an estimated workweek of 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, including either Saturday or Sunday each week. Schedule adjustments may be made on a case-by-case basis as needed for coverage, emergencies, or special events.
