SLOCA is seeking a Business Director who will be responsible for growing SLOCA's business income across multiple channels, including the bookstore, thrift store, and online math video subscription program, all of which support our vibrant community, education, mission, and vision.

POSITION PURPOSE / JOB SUMMARY
- The Business Director is responsible for growing SLOCA's business income across multiple channels, including the bookstore, thrift store, and online math video subscription program, all of which support our vibrant community, education, mission, and vision.

- Reports to the Chief Advancement Officer
- Oversees our Wisdom Wonder Project Customer Service representative and Web master
- Oversees our thrift store manager and supports the curriculum point person
- Oversees our school store manager
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated possession of wisdom and values that align well with the mission and vision of SLO Classical Academy
Required:
- College degree
- 6 years of business building, management, and finance experience
- 2 years of retail experience and/or sales highly desired
- 4 years of managing people and/or project management
- Demonstrated strong people skills
- Technology - highly computer literate and quick tech study; knowledgeable with WordPress as well as automated email marketing systems preferred
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Classical Education or Singapore Math is a bonus

- A willingness to happily be in the trenches. This is a hands-on director position.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct online business marketing and subscription growth for Wisdom Wonder Project (WWP)
- Create and oversee a growth plan to expand our reach and our revenue to individuals and schools.
- Collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer and Director of Marketing and Communications to create a full WWP marketing plan, including digital content, social platforms, content on the WWP website, etc.. Implement that plan.
- Support and manage WWP’s Customer Service Representative and Web master.
- Manage WWP budget and financials goals
- Track, manage, and utilize data.
- Update KPI’s to gauge performance of promotions and track customers
- Create and report on customer feedback channels
- Participate in the necessary groundwork to make the growth occur.
- Oversee integration between WordPress and Klayvio
- Direct Thrift Store development and growth
- Create and oversee a growth plan to increase revenue marketing and growth of SLOCA’s local thrift store
- Collaborate with Director of Marketing and Communications to create a thrift store marketing plan. Ensure implementation of that plan.
- Support and grow thrift store manager and support curriculum point person.
- Manage thrift store budget and financial goals.
- Participate in the necessary groundwork to make the growth occur
- Direct Bookstore (The Den)development and growth
- Oversee, develop, and implement strategies to help The Den achieve targeted income objectives and growth, including marketing initiatives.
- Support and grow the Den Manager.
- Support the teacher curriculum point person, who interacts with the manager about curriculum needs.
- Manage bookstore budget and financial goals.
- Promote The Den to existing SLOCA families in alignment with branding and overall SLOCA marketing plan
- Participate in the necessary groundwork to enable growth.
Staff members are expected to adhere to all Administrative Directives as well as any applicable SLOCA Policies, including those specifically outlined in the Employee Manual.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a limited basis. Able to sit at a desk or in meetings for long periods of time and move about campuses easily. Able to work irregular hours if needed for meetings, etc.
