CONSTRUCTION SAFETY COORDINATORROLE SUMMARYSan Luis Concrete Corp is seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator to Lead and manage safety programs for private and public works projects across California. This position works directly in the field to identify hazards, support safe work practices, and ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA and company safety policies. The coordinator will develop, implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and help maintain safe, productive job sites and drive a pro-active safety culture that reduces incidents and protects workers, subcontractors, and the public.CONSTRUCTION SAFETY COORDINATORCompany: San Luis Concrete CorpClassification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)Pay Range: $24.00 – $25.00 per hourWork Week: Monday–Friday (occasional weekends as required)Travel: Job sites throughout CaliforniaKEY RESPONSIBILITIESField Safety Oversight• Perform routine jobsite safety walkthroughs on active construction projects.• Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential hazards before and during work activities.• Work directly with superintendents, forepersons, and crews to correct safety concerns.• Verify proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).• Support safe work planning for high-risk activities including excavation, concrete work, equipment operation, and elevated work.Hazard Identification and Job Planning• Assist in preparation and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).• Help crews identify hazards and implement safe work controls.• Track and verify completion of corrective actions.Training and Safety Communication• Conduct new employee and subcontractor safety orientations.• Provide weekly construction safety topics and toolbox talk materials to field leaders.• Maintain records of required safety training and certifications.• Assist with delivery and coordination of safety training including fall protection, ladder safety, excavation awareness, and hazard communication.• Support supervisors in reinforcing safe work practices.Compliance and Documentation• Document jobsite inspections, observations, and safety activities.• Maintain safety files including training records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.• Support compliance with applicable standards from Cal/OSHA and OSHA.• Assist with regulatory inspections and internal safety reviews.Incident Support• Assist with incident investigations and documentation.• Support tracking of corrective actions and safety metrics.Safety Culture Support• Promote safe work practices through daily field presence.• Encourage employees to report hazards and participate in safety improvements.• Support project teams in maintaining safe and organized job sites.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• Experience working in construction or a safety-related role preferred.• Bi-lingual Fluency, Spanish preferred• OSHA 10 Construction required (OSHA 30 preferred or ability to obtain).• First Aid and CPR certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.• Working knowledge of construction site hazards and safe work practices.• Strong communication and organizational skills.• Valid California driver’s license required.• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening consistent with applicable law.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Work performed primarily on active construction sites.• Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, and access elevated work areas.• Ability to lift to 25 pounds.• Must always wear required PPE on job sites.• Reasonable accommodations provided in accordance with applicable law.COMPANY-PROVIDED EQUIPMENTSan Luis Concrete Corp may provide a vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone, and laptop or tablet based on business needs.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYSan Luis Concrete Corp is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
