Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and comfort.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
• Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain safety and confidentiality.
• Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies to enhance quality of life.
• Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively to prevent injury for residents and staff.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to identify changes in residents’ conditions and report concerns promptly for timely intervention.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control protocols and assisting with routine sanitation procedures.

Skills

• Proven experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for delivering high-quality patient care.
• Experience with specialized care areas including memory care, hospice, behavioral health, or ICU environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures and manage catheter care when required.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support residents’ emotional needs.
