Job Summary

As a Transitional Kindergarten Teacher, you will play a critical role in laying the foundation for young learners as they begin their educational journey. You will create a nurturing, play-based, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports students’ social-emotional growth, early literacy and numeracy skills, and curiosity about the world. Through engaging, hands-on learning experiences and strong partnerships with families, you will help students build confidence, independence, and a love of learning while inspiring them to discover their own greatness.

What do you need to be qualified? -Multiple Subject Credential with English Learner (EL) Authorization -Completion of 24 units in ECE / child development by the end of your second year with San José Unified -To apply, you must have at least 12 units already completed AND have worked at least one year as a preschool teacher -Unit requirement can be waived if you have been a full-time preschool teacher for at least one year or part-time preschool teacher for at least two year What you will need to apply: -Resume and letter of introduction outlining your desire and qualifications for this position -Two (2) letters of reference from prior supervisors -Transcripts of your undergraduate degree including any early childhood education / child development units, and graduate degrees if applicable. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for application purposes only. -Test results: please attach CSET results. -Entry of all past employers in the work history section of this application (please see Education Code section 44939.5 - as amended by California AB2534)
