San Jose Dance Theatre (SJDT) is seeking a highly organized, professional, and creative individual to join our team as a Part-Time Marketing & Studio Operations Coordinator. This role is ideal for a candidate with experience in marketing, digital communications, and customer engagement who is also comfortable supporting front-facing studio operations.
This position plays a key role in advancing SJDT’s visibility, enrollment growth, and community presence, while also ensuring a welcoming and professional experience for students and families at the studio.
Position Details:
Part-time, $20/ per hour- up to 20 hours per week (hours vary based on season and production schedule)
Required: Saturdays (6–8 hours) and the second Monday evening of each month (front desk coverage)
Responsibilities:
Lead and execute SJDT’s marketing efforts, including social media strategy, content creation, and digital campaigns to drive enrollment and audience engagement
Manage and update website content (WordPress), ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with current programming and events
Support advertising and promotional initiatives for classes, performances, and special events
Assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase student enrollment and retention
Create and manage email communications, newsletters, and announcements using Google Workspace and marketing platforms
Collaborate with the Office Manager, Artistic Director, and Executive Director on marketing initiatives and organizational priorities
Provide front desk coverage on Saturdays, serving as the primary point of contact for students and families
Welcome and assist families with professionalism, answering questions related to classes, schedules, tuition, and policies
Support student registration, trial classes, and general administrative processes
Provide additional front desk coverage on designated weekdays as needed (including second Monday evenings)
Assist with events, performances, and community engagement efforts, including on-site support during productions
Qualifications:
Professional experience or strong background in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a polished, professional demeanor
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging content
Experience with website management
Proficiency with Google Workspace
Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Background in dance strongly preferred (former dancer or familiarity with ballet training environments)
Interest in the performing arts and nonprofit sector
