We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to fill a role for Facilities Assistant. This position is part-time, 20 hours per week. Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, The Facilities Assistant will perform custodial work in the cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings, equipment and facilities. Job duties could extend to facility or event set-up, as well as ground maintenance. Job Description Summary:
- Model an exemplary Christian walk in speech and action
- Perform daily janitorial duties which include vacuum, mop, garbage, and recycling
- Perform deep cleaning duties based on a schedule developed with the Facilities Manager
- Pick up litter from buildings and surrounding grounds and parking lots
- Lift and store supplies
- Remove objects hazardous to persons and property
- Report safety, sanitation, and fire hazards
- Perform maintenance observation walks around school buildings, grounds, and the parking lot
- Maintain a secure campus by checking and locking doors, windows, and gates
- Observe and report to Facilities Manager and/or law enforcement agencies any acts by persons which compromises campus safety and security
- Develop and maintain friendly and cordial relations with students, staff, and other members of the SJCS community
- Assist the Facility Manager with substitute custodian scheduling
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance in the workplace
- Perform all duties and obligations set forth in the Employee Handbook
Physical Demands:
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Frequently walk, squat, and kneel as part of facilities and ground maintenance
- Use power tools/equipment and apply necessary safety measures
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
