San Jose Behavioral Health is currently seeking a Accounting Manager to assist the accounting department and our 133 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital, located in South San Jose, CA.

PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Responsible for the direction of the facility financial servicesi including general accounting, payroll, budgeting, and all other aspects of the facility accounting department.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability or other financial activities within the facility.
- Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Analyze financial data in order to prepare financial reports.
- Prepare and examine monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to ensure the records are accurate and timely.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Prepare month end journal entries and GL account reconciliations within established time frame.
- Prepare requird financial reports on a monthnly, quarterly and annual basis as required.
- Ensure the financial records are accurate and file timely.
- Assist, monitor and coordinate accounting and financial projects as assigned by CFO
- Assist CFO with schedules, reports, audits and projects per Corporate and other agencys requests.
- Serve as a backup to the Payroll/AP Staff Accountant when needed
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field required.
- Five years's accounting experience preferred, in a healthcare setting a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- Public accounting firms/public companies experiences are preferred.
- Strong accounting background, analytic skills and knowledge of GAAP are required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel Required.
- Works well under pressure and in a fast paced environment
- High Degree of attention to detail and multi tasking
- Ownership and pride in work product.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
