Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, providing a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. This role involves a variety of tasks, including custodial duties, floor care, and general facilities maintenance.
Duties
- Must be able to regularly work 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Occasionally (2-4 times annually) flexibility in the scheduled will be required to accommodate the set-up of college events which may include nights and weekends
- Perform custodial tasks to maintain cleanliness multiple areas: classrooms, hallways, kitchens and restrooms.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Empty and dispose of trash and recycling bins, following proper waste management procedures.
- Ensure common areas, such as hallways and reception areas, are always clean and presentable.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to maintain a polished appearance.
- Set up classrooms which requires relocation of chairs and tables; and event spaces as needed.
- Inspects the building and grounds regularly to identify, report, and correct maintenance or any health, safety or issues accordingly.
- Performing general upkeep of the facility's exterior and parking lots.
- Assist with small repair projects such as painting, and carpentry.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of custodial practices and procedures.
- Experience in facilities maintenance with a focus on cleanliness and safety.
- Familiarity with floor care equipment and techniques, including buffing machines.
- Ability to perform industrial cleaning tasks effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
