What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant Reception position at San Joaquin College of Law?
Candidate must:
- Be able to work Monday-Thursday 1:45 p.m.-6:30 p.m., and Fridays 1:00-5:00 p.m
- Speak English and Spanish fluently.
- Have 1-2 yrs. experience working in an office environment, handling incoming calls, and providing administrative support.
- High school diploma or GED, prefer completion of college level courses AA or BA
- Work in-person and be reliable.
This is a fabulous part-time position for an applicant looking to work in an educational setting with a regular Monday-to-Friday schedule (Mon-Thurs. 1:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday’s 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
As the first point of contact, this position plays a critical role for the college. Responsibilities include managing multiple phone lines, providing customer service to callers and walk-in visitors, and supporting administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, with strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation abilities. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of standard administrative and business office practices, strong organizational skills, and keen attention to detail when handling confidential information. The position requires someone who can follow instructions, adapt constructively to changing situations, take initiative, and problem-solve as needs arise.
Hourly pay range: $18.00-$21.00
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for more than 80% of the time, regular use a keyboard and other office machinery, ability to observe and detect details at close range, regularly able to be mobile, i.e., circulate through the building which requires use of stairs or elevator, must be able to move boxes weighing 20 pounds for various needs.
