What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director OB Services position at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position directs and coordinates the clinical and other unit activities in Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Postpartum and Gyn Units in order to provide quality patient care.
The Director must be competent in the assessment of adult and geriatric patients for appropriate physiological, behavioral, and psychological norms. He/she must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect, and cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical. Pediatric patients are occasionally admitted, therefore, the Director must also be competent in the assessment and care of children, including age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological/psychological developmental norms. He/she must be cognizant of safety, treatment/medication and immunization concerns of this age group as well as adults.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Graduate of a School of Nursing. BSN Degree or its equivalent. Master's Degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Maintains Current RN license in California. Current BLS, ACLS and NRP required.
Experience: Must have prior Labor & Delivery work experience, minimum 2 years. Prior managerial experience required, with demonstrated administrative and leadership ability. Minimum of five years obstetrical experience.
