POSITION SUMMARY:
Duties include determining a patient’s eligibility for insurance benefits, typically prior to medical treatments, tests, hospital admissions, and outpatient procedures. This role is designed to streamline the submissions process for patients and secure any necessary pre-authorizations and ensure all admissions are authorized correctly. Verifying coverage and communication with medical facilities to resolve any discrepancies. Responsibilities include staying current with insurance requirements, maintaining logs of denied claims, logs of all admitted patients to follow up on daily for any updates in care level treatments and problem-solving cases as needed. Other duties include follow-up on missing or inaccurate information and coordination with clinical staff and physicians.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At minimum, a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills.
- 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Previous experience working with insurance authorizations.
- Basic computer skills, Excel, and prior experience with electronic medical record.
