Apparel Production Assistant
Company Overview:
San Francisco Mercantile is a small but fast-growing wholesale company based in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. We have been in business since 2008. We are looking for a motivated, detail oriented, hardworking individual to assist the warehouse team in Apparel production.
This position requires working a flexible schedule of 20 to 40 hours per week. The candidate must be able to work weekends or late shifts as needed. The APA will work with a warehouse team of 4 to 5 people.
Primary duties:
The primary duties of the Apparel Production Assistant are as follows:
-After training on all relevant machines, the APA will apply decorative images to apparel, hats, tote bags and tea towels using a Direct to Garment printer and heat presses to fulfill customer orders in a timely fashion.
-Maintain all stock used in the printing process in an organized fashion. Do stock counts to ensure that there is enough stock for orders awaiting completion.
Secondary duties:
All secondary duties are performed as necessary.
-Pick and pack orders with accuracy.
-Restock warehouse inventory.
-Perform scheduled inventory counts.
-Ensure all shipments are labeled correctly.
-Meet all shipping deadlines.
-Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
Ideal candidate qualifications:
-Good visual skills to ensure consistent straight and level placement of images on all garments and products.
-Time management skills for balancing tasks and keeping production moving quickly and accurately
-Attention to detail
-Good problem-solving skills
-The ability to work well with a team is a must as well as the ability to work independently if necessary
-Ability to multi-task and move between projects
-Ability to work well under a deadline
Physical demands:
-Long periods of standing throughout work shift
-Able to stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop and lift boxes up to 50 lbs.

Compensation:
$19 - $22 per hour depending on experience
