The Opportunity
The Program Manager will help turn DDC’s strategy into action. Reporting to the COO, this role manages implementation across multiple high-profile programs—coordinating with city departments, community organizations, consultants, and donors to ensure projects move forward effectively and visibly. The ideal candidate is a sharp generalist who thrives in cross-sector environments, can manage complex workstreams, and brings a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations for assigned initiatives, ensuring all program objectives and milestones are met. Identify and help resolve implementation challenges, escalating strategic issues to leadership as needed.
- Track project deliverables, financial targets, and key performance metrics.
- Review project proposals and assist in selection processes for new investments or grants.
- Liaise with city departments, civic groups, community benefit districts, and nonprofit partners to coordinate program execution.
- Prepare briefing materials, memos, and presentations for stakeholder meetings, board meetings, and conferences as needed.
- Draft project updates and donor deliverables highlighting program progress and outcomes. Support the CEO and COO on special projects.
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of professional experience ideally in consulting, public sector management, philanthropy, startups, or civic/nonprofit program delivery.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-stakeholder projects or partnerships with measurable outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at summarizing complex initiatives clearly and persuasively.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required.

Location
This role will be based in San Francisco, with a minimum of three days per week in-person at our downtown office, in alignment with the organization’s mission.
