Duties
- Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using our online patient management platform (Carestack)
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently while maintaining accurate medical records and documentation review.
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical billing and collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately.
- Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, reviewing documentation, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Assist with billing processes involving CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare claims, and other health insurance procedures.
- Ensure smooth clinic operations by managing office supplies, appointment reminders, and patient follow-up communications.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication/writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of health insurance procedures including claims processing, billing, CDT codes and dental billing practices.
- Ability to review dental/medical documentation accurately while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Clinic experience with dental or medical office management enhances your ability to excel in this role.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing dental records and appointment schedules efficiently.
