The nonprofit San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living serves a significant number of patients and long-term care/skilled nursing residents each year in its Jewish Home & Rehab Center. Non-residential care is offered through our short-term and rehabilitation services unit for patients who require specialized interdisciplinary rehabilitation to recover from surgery or an acute illness, and through our acute geriatric psychiatry hospital. With a complement of close to 650 compassionate, experienced clinical and allied health personnel, SFCJL provides older adults with a variety of life-enriching healthcare programs and services in a welcoming, stimulating environment.
SFCJLs transformed campus includes the new Lynne & Roy M. Frank Residences (assisted living apartments and memory care & support assisted living suites), and Byer Square, a non-residential community of programs, services, and support.
Position Overview
The Development Manager plays a vital role in advancing the mission of San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) by managing core fundraising programs and fostering donor relationships. This position will redesign and implement SFCJLs Grateful Patient Giving program, lead the annual year-end appeal, manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, and provide critical support to the Development Associate with constituent and data management. The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Grateful Patient Giving program to engage patients and families in philanthropic support.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to identify prospective grateful patient donors and ensure alignment with privacy regulations.
- Cultivate relationships with grateful patients and steward their giving journey.
- Plan, implement, segment and evaluate the annual year-end appeal campaign, leveraging direct mail, email, and online giving strategies to maximize results.
- Analyze campaign performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Support, encourage and implement strong stewardship and exceptional donor experiences in partnership with development and marketing teams.
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, ensuring personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Coordinate with the CDO and Director of Major Gifts on moves management for donors with capacity for major, leadership and planned gifts.
- Provide guidance and oversight to the Development Associate in managing the donor database and managing constituent groups, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Oversee donor segmentation and reporting to support targeted fundraising initiatives.
- Support the team with database queries, analytics, and donor recognition processes.
- Perform other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in development, including annual giving and donor relations.
- Salesforce proficiency required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving needs.
- Outstanding problem solver with an independent and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Passion for the mission of the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living and a commitment to building meaningful donor relationships.
- Experience in healthcare fundraising, particularly Grateful Patient Giving.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor engagement strategies.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance as it relates to fundraising.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000, DOE
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
