Credit and Collections Analyst
San Francisco Bay Coffee is looking for an experienced Credit and Collections Analyst for our expanding Finance Team!
The Credit and Collections Analyst responsibilities include credit analysis, collections, deductions management, cash application, account reconciliation and resolution. You will render such business and professional services in the performance of your duties, consistent with your position.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the credit worthiness of potential and existing customers, evaluate and establish appropriate customer credit limits based on results of credit review.
- Effectively communicate with accounts payable contacts, customers’ senior management, or business owners in an effort to minimize past due items.
- Reduce or revoke credit limits upon receipt of negative external information pertinent to financial strength of account.
- Notify sales, customer service and shipping of “shipment holds” when a customer account becomes delinquent.
- Manage accounts receivable for all accounts, including cash application, account reconciliation, and deduction management.
- Work with management in the processing of deductions and clearly communicate expectations to sales team.
- Work with sales personnel, shipping, brokers and customers to research track and resolve unauthorized customer chargebacks.
- Monitor account receivables aging, and pursue collection on late paying accounts.
- Oversee inter-company A/R transactions and reconciliations.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
- High School or GED Equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a credit/collections role
- Ability to analyze financial documents
- Knowledge of business and consumer credit, business and credit law, some due process and contract law, as well as bankruptcy.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills
- Microsoft Navision experience preferred
