What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hype Team Performer position at San Francisco 49ers?
Hype Team Performers will be a cast of on-camera background performers that elevate promotions and in-game entertainment at 49ers home games. Members will also be asked to support various entertainment elements and operations throughout the season. This is a seasonal position and will conclude at the end of the team’s 2025-2026 season.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides continuous energy to our fans both on and off-camera during key moments of the game to help build a home-field advantage for the team.
- Dances on camera for select video board features, including developing and implementing basic choreography for dance cams and Amp Squad DJ sets.
- Responsible for the execution of certain in-game promotional elements, such as handing out promotional items to lucky sections, working as a team to execute theme game initiatives and ceremonies, and distributing prizes.
- Assist with entertainment operations and stage movements, such as for pregame player introductions, national anthem performances, and select halftime shows.
- Assist with mascot photo opportunities and appearances, line management, greeting fans and helping distribute giveaways, and setting up and breaking down equipment.
- Represent the San Francisco 49ers, Levi’s® Stadium, and their respective partners as a brand ambassador at all 49ers games and select team events.
- Act as an extension of our guest services team by helping fans with wayfinding, answering questions, taking pictures, and communicating with 49ers Game Presentation staff to ensure all guests have a positive experience when attending games or events.
Required Abilities and Skills:
- Available for at least 80% of 49ers home games and team events, including any training/rehearsal days.
- A general understanding of football and passion for the San Francisco 49ers.
- Charismatic and outgoing personality.
- Team oriented, works well under pressure, has a positive attitude, self-starter.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in entertainment, dance, cheerleading, or performing arts is required.
- Local market knowledge is a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

This role requires the employee to be able to stand, dance, move dynamically, and remain mobile for extended periods of time—often outdoors in varying weather conditions and during large public events.
The employee will frequently engage in physical activities such as dancing, running, jumping, lifting equipment, and interacting with fans throughout the stadium. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds and assist with the setup and breakdown of promotional elements and event equipment.
The employee is frequently required to speak clearly, project vocally and physically, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus in a fast-paced, highly stimulating environment.
This position requires regular interaction with large crowds and loud environments. It may also involve working in tight or confined spaces during stage movements and live performances.
