ID#3135A - Under the direction of the Program Manager for Macdonald Carey East Valley Mental Health Center, provides support, training oversight, and guidance to staff regarding client-related situations. In the Program Manager’s absence, acts as the designee for administrative, programmatic (including crises) issues. Provides direct client services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts direct client services. Provides immediate clinical consultation/support/guidance when addressing crises and other client-related issues.
- Assists the Program Manager in recruiting and training/onboarding new staff.
- Conducts case disposition/staff meetings in Program Manager’s absence.
- Meets with Program Manager on a weekly basis in order to address problem areas/performance concerns and “high risk” cases.
- Provides back-up Officer-of-the-Day coverage to new staff or when the team requires assistance.
- Participates in a monthly Quality Improvement/Assurance meeting with Program Manager. Follows-up with staff when requested, by the Program Manager regarding documentation standards. Assists the Program Manager in ensuring compliance with both Center and LACDMH policies and procedures.
- Provides “all” direct services (e.g., Mental Health Services, Targeted Case Management and Crisis Intervention Services).
- Become LPS designated by LACDMH and initiates a 5150 hold when appropriate.
- Complete all required documentation w/i the required timeframes.
- Manage a caseload of 50. Productivity is 65%.
- Attend in-service training (s) as needed an appropriate.
- Submit weekly schedule.
- Provides “After Hours” coverage on a rotational basis.
- Ph.D. in clinical psychology from an accredited university and one year’s pre-or post-doctoral supervised field experience AND 3 years additional work experience in the application of psychological techniques in recognized mental health agencies/settings using the rehabilitation option model AND Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of California. OR
- Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work AND a supervised field experience in psychiatric social work AND four years' experience as a Psychiatric Social Worker at a recognized mental health setting/agency using the rehabilitation option model, AND Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. OR
- Master's degree in psychology or related behavioral science field from an accredited university AND one year of supervised field, experience and two years' work experience in a recognized mental health setting/agency using the rehabilitation option model, AND Licensed as a Marriage, Family Therapist.
- License must be current and in good standing.
- Must act in accordance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 and related state law (LPS) confidentiality requirements. Must successfully complete the Center’s HIPAA training, pass the HIPAA test and receive the “Certification of Compliance”.
