Position Summary 
San Diego Wave FC is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT Manager to lead technology operations across the Club's headquarters, training facility, and matchday environments. Reporting to the SVP, Operations, this role serves as the Club's technology leader and is responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions that support employees, players, coaches, and business operations. The role combines technical expertise, people leadership, vendor management, project execution, and operational problem-solving in a fast-paced professional sports environment. 
 
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing strategy and rolling up their sleeves to resolve day-to-day challenges. They are a builder, a strong business partner, and someone who enjoys creating efficient systems, improving workplace experiences, and helping organizations scale. As the Club's technology leader, this role is responsible for ensuring employees have the tools, systems, and workplace infrastructure necessary to perform at their best. 
 
Essential Responsibilities 
·                Lead all Club IT operations, including infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud applications, end-user support, hardware, software, telecommunications, and business systems. 
·                Serve as the primary owner of technology services across headquarters, training facilities, and matchday environments. 
·                Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues while maintaining a hands-on approach to support and execution. 
·                Manage, coach, and develop IT staff, contractors, and external service providers. 
·                Identify and implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, employee experience, collaboration, security, and scalability. 
·                Partner closely with department leaders to understand business needs and deliver technology solutions that support Club objectives. 
·                Develop, manage, and own the annual IT budget. 
·                Negotiate and maintain relationships with technology vendors, consultants, managed service providers, and strategic partners. 
·                Lead cybersecurity initiatives, policies, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery efforts. 
·                Partner with Operations and other leaders on cross-functional initiatives that improve workplace experience, operational efficiency, space planning, employee experience, and organizational readiness. 
·                Support workplace infrastructure and site readiness initiatives across Club locations. 
·                Support technology operations for home matches and special events, including connectivity, operational hardware, LED boards, and vendor coordination. 
·                Perform other related duties and operational projects as assigned. 
 
Qualifications 
·                5 years of progressive experience in information technology, systems administration, infrastructure management, or IT operations. 
·                2 years of experience managing employees, contractors, vendors, or project teams. 
·                Demonstrated experience managing technology budgets and vendor relationships. 
·                Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, networking, cybersecurity, endpoint management, identity management, and cloud applications. 
·                Experience leading technology projects from planning through deployment. 
·                Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 
·                Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on execution. 
·                Experience supporting organizations with 50–250 employees preferred. 
·                Experience supporting sports, entertainment, hospitality, venue, or event-based operations preferred. 
·                Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements 
·                Travel between Club facilities within San Diego County. 
·                Ability to lift and move technology equipment up to 40 pounds on occasion. 
·                Availability to work home matches, special events, evenings, weekends, and other non-traditional business hours as needed. 
 
Compensation 
Salary Range: $120,000 - $145,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
