Job Summary

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Human Resources Compliance Officer will plan, organize, manage, and evaluate District-wide human resource compliance programs, operations, and processes related to staff accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), federal and state statutory leaves of absence (Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), and mandatory employee statutory clearances; collaborate with cross-functional departments to align industrial injury and Workers' Compensation workflows with human resource functions; serve as the technical and procedural authority in conducting interactive process meetings, evaluate essential job functions, process requests for reasonable accommodation, and monitoring return-to-work and leave of absence workflows across certificated and classified personnel; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.

Requirements / Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICS: The working Location is within the Human Resources Department. 4100 Normal Street, San Diego, CA 92103. Work schedule: Full-time / 12 months per year. This position is paid on the Non-Represented Classified Supervisors Salary Schedule II, Salary Plan N700, Grade 034. Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in human resources, public administration, business administration, or other related field and seven (7) years of increasingly responsible human resources experience. Must include specialized experience in the ADA interactive process and statutory leaves of absence. Direct supervisory experience, workflow change management, and experience in a public agency or TK-12 educational setting are highly desirable.

Licenses and Other Requirements: Professional license or certification in human resources (i.e., SHRM, PHR, SPHR, CHRP, PSHRA, CHRM,) preferred.
