The District is seeking candidates for a Director, Special Education, position to support the office of Special Education Compliance and related programs. BASIC FUNCTION: The Director, Special Education will plan, organize, manage, and direct the daily operations within assigned Special Education programs and services to support schools, staff, students, and families; uphold fiscal responsibilities; ensure compliance with State and federal mandates and District policies; provide leadership, direction, and supervision to assigned staff to continually improve and calibrate special education programs and services. The Director of Special Education (Specialized Supports), provides leadership, coordination, oversight for specialized supports/programs (Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Successful Transition Achieved through Responsive Support-STARS, Extended School Year, Low Incidence) and related services (Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, School Psychology) to ensure equitable, legally compliant, and high-quality supports for students with disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience and/or education equivalent to a Master’s degree in special education or related field and five (5) years of leadership experience in education. Special education teaching experience is desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid Administrative Services Credential
