You Will Be Kept Busy With
- Health assessments. Conduct health assessments to identify student health issues.
- First Aid. Administer first aid and emergency care to students as needed.
- Medication Management. Administer medications according to school policies and procedures.
- Health Education. Educate students on health and wellness topics.
- Health Records. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Communication. Communicate with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student health concerns.
- Support. Assist in health-related programs and initiatives within the school.
- Medical Expertise. Possess strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric care.
- Empathy. Demonstrate empathy and patience when dealing with students’ health concerns.
- Organization. Maintain organized health records and manage medication administration using SNAP, SDJA’s EHR (electronic health record) system.
- Teamwork. Collaborate with administrators, educators and staff to support student well-being.
- Problem-solving. Think on your feet and provide solutions in emergency situations.
- Compassion. Show genuine care and concern for the well-being of all students.
- Nursing Certification. Current nursing certification and state licensure..
- Pediatric Experience. Previous experience in pediatric/school nursing preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification. Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Adaptability. Ability to adapt to various health situations in a school environment.
- Excellent Communication Skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with students, parents and staff.
- Professionalism. Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to ethical standards.
- Team Player. Willingness to work collaboratively with school staff and parents.
- Flexibility. Be available for on-call assignments as needed.
