• Knowledge of constructivist philosophy and teaching practices
• Knowledge of developmental learning theories
• Knowledge of formative assessments as a tool for driving instruction
• Expertise and knowledge in mathematics instruction.
• Able to effectively differentiate instruction for a diverse population of students from different socio-economic backgrounds that possess a range of skills and learning styles; values full inclusion and works with case managers to meet the educational needs of all students.
• Ability to work in cooperative spirit with all levels of the school community (students, staff and parents)
• Willing to participate in team teaching and planning
• Ability to effectively manage all aspects of classroom operations (attendance, classroom management, student evaluation, parent conferences, etc.)
• Supports the value of tolerance and embraces anti-bias educational practices
• Is a reflective practioner with strong desire for continuous learning and improvement
• Willing to take on responsibility for the success of the school as a whole
